1. when we give you punishments, we don' do it with you guyys because we want to observe how you do it. if you don't do it properly and we don't notice them, what's the point of doing them punishments right.
2. the majors talk like "want to pick up a fight". it's because the soft approach don't work on you guys. if you don't agree, tell me how many times you all keep quiet immediately when someone is standing infront? so when we raise our voices, you don't approve. nonsense.
3. we use the words shut up. if you want ME to use nicer words, then jolly well keep your mouth shut when i ask you too. how many times do i have to repeat myself using the word keep quiet every band practice? COUNTLESS. and do you guys respond to them? NO.
4. we,sec 3s, are more approachable last time when we haven't gontten our posts. i, personally, have been trying very hard to accomodate everyone and trying my very best to not use my authority when i'm jsut in between you people. in front of the band i have to be scary. i dont' knwo about the rest but i think we've tried our very best to communicate with all of you, and i think we're no different than who we were last time. i think when you think we're unapproachable, it's because you don't amke the effort. sure, the leaders can make the first move but we've tried our very best and we just can't go around everyday talking to our juniors.

so it all boils down to yrselves people. i'm not puishing the blame, sure maybe sometimes we are wrong, but we have reasons why we do them. like for example, using my hp. sometimes i just need to communicate with daniel or i need to use them for the band. especially when we give you time limits, i use them to time you guys, not for fun.

so it's tiem to change. you want us to treat you with respect, you give us the respect. you want us to talk to you nicely, then you jolly well respond to nice words. and if you're not happy with whatever myself or daniel has done for the practice, stay back after band and come talk to us personally.

we can be your friends, we can be your enemies. you choose.
in band i might have scolded you but taht's because we go by the rules. outside band we're friends. if you're not happy, don't show yr disapproval by not listening, wait until it's after band and settle things. liek i told the woodwinds/percussion squad jnow, you want to fight after band i don't care. in band you reciprocate the respect.

although i'd like to say. i might be fierce/hateable/whateverable in band, but outside, trust me, you can be my friend.

i'm trying to upload okay not really i'm trying to d/l the pictures our camera(wo)man of the day took during familay day carnival and it ell you it's alot. so you guys wait while i busy myself d/ling them akay.

and remember. monday 7.20am at the band rm.

1. no usage of hp
   this isn't exactly a new rule, but an old one only not really bothered by the prev batch. anyone seen using handphones anytime between the start of band and dismissal, the whole band will owe me and dan 20.
2. no packing of yr things-eg. folding of stands- when mr ong is still infront
   most people are doing this. from the next practice onwards i do not want to see this. it's v irritating and you're showing disrespect by not listening to him.
3. keep quiet immediately when someone goes "shhh"
   usually taht sound will be made by either me or dan, and sometiems even izzah, and i want immediate silence. we do that for a reason and not for fun. w/o you noticing, sometimes it gets unbearably(?) noisy. so ZIP IT when we do it.
4. tuck in shirt at all times.
   anyone caught with shirt tucked out, the WHOLE BAND owes us 10 pumping. 1 person= 10 pumping, 2person- 20. and so on and so forth.
5. SHUT UP when someone is infront.
   when you see someone standing infront, regardless of ranks, stop talking already. if the whole band is quiet and a few people are still talking, the WHOLE band gets pumping. 20.
6. pencils for everyone and additional notebook for SLs.
   i want this to be in everyones brain ALL THE TIME. if anyoen is caught w/o pencil, the whole band gets punishment again. SLs, yr notebooks are not for show. you are to write down EVERYTHINg mr ong tells any part of yr sections. if lets say you are playing 2nd clarinet and happen to be the SL, take down WHATEVER mr ong tells the section, from 1st all the way to 3rd clar.
7. time limit.
   when we give you a time limit, you are to FOLLOW IT. if you don't, the time you waste will be payed back by staying in yr pumping position.
8. fall in.
   when we ask you to fall in, we expect everyone to be in their squads, standing straight, mouth shut and facing the front. no smiling is allowed either. when you want to move, ask for permission. anyone caught doing any of the above not allowed things, the whole band down.
9. student conductor.
   get a notebook & write everything and anything mr ong tells the abnd. when mr ong is not here and you take over, you are to know what to do. and you are to speak up, don't be afraid.

okay so that's a pretty lengthy post. next band practice is on wed fall in outside com lab 1 at 2.30pm. i've written you a post of rules so i expect all of you to abide it.
