although i did notice two things.
mas que nada, when there are only the sec 2s and 1s around, those who are playing the bass line please soften down because just now i really couldn't hear the melody AT ALL. so a reminder, any song, if you are not playing the melody, do p;lay softer.
as for ain't no other man, french horns you've gotta buck up. clean yr notes, please. thank you very much.
anf for the whole band, get your notes right, and get your articulations right.
i'm sure all of you want to sound like the japan recording we heard just now right? they're perfect. so articulate your notes, know your rhythm and play them.
and i'd like to compliment wen jie on his excellent conducting. okay nto really excellent but i liked the way he conducted things. he had his initiative to ask us to rate ourselves. i think we should all do this, so STUDENT CONDUCTOR, do learn from him, thanks.
so, again
good job wen jie:D
so next band practice is this wednesday.
date: 071107
venue: fall in outside com lab 1.
instructions for wednesday.
- go for your sectionals right after falling in. work on your pieces. you guys can improve more.
- after at least one and a half hour, get back together for full band.
- at exactly 12 noon, i want the majors for halftheday to send them for lunch UNTIL 1PM. mr ong will be back by then. or maybe you want to send them out for lunch earlier so they can get settled down before mr ong comes. sec 3s, go for lunch right after your lessons, which should end at 1, and go to the band room at 2pm.
sadly though i won't be able to join you guys because as some of you are aware i'm going to new delhi with the school soon so i have things to prepare. i hope you guys do what you are all supposed to do.
and i got a complain just now that tubas aren't doing your sectionals. only arvin was. so tubas, you guys are not up to par with the rest of the band and i hope you are aware of that. ben and the otehr guy, you are the sniors so show a good example to arvin.
thanks.
