Yo ppl! A few important announcements that concerns all of u, so pls open ur eyes. Pls do not miss out any impt details.

Firstly, a piece of bad news. Band practices nxt week(1st week of sch) have all been cancelled :( Sad rite...i noe. so pls go home straight after sch on Wed 1 July n Fri 3 July. U might wanna record it down.

Secondly, lets thank whoever who changed the blog skin into this colourfully decorated, fresh n attractive blog.

Next, u might wanna record it down too. There will b a concert named "In Concert 2009" presented by Yio Chu Kang Secondary School.

Their repertoire includes pieces such as "Two Symphonic Movements for Band" by famous Czech-American composer Václav Nelhýbel, "Animation Medley" by famous japanese composer Joe Hisaishi which includes themes frm animations released by Studios Ghilbi such as "Spirited Away", "Howl's Moving Castle", "Princess Mononoke", "My Neighbour Totoro", "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" and "Laputa: Castle in the Sky". The band will also be presenting this piece entitled "Les Misérables" by famous french composer Claude-Michel Schönberg and there will also b a special item presented by their Alumni Band.
I assure u that this concert by a Gold band would be especially enjoyable n fruitful 4 u. Of cos, this is definitely, totally optional. So, any1 who is interested in this music-filled concert, pls inform any of the teachers in-charge or any of the majors by 30 June. Thx a lot ppl :D

Tickets are prices at $5, and are sold at ALL Sistic Counters. (The closest one is at Lot1)

It will be very enriching as you can hear excellent bands like

&
National Junior College. They will be playing songs like Verdi’s La Forza Del Destino, Strauss II’s Die Fledemaus, Puccini’s Turandot, and Gillingham’s With Heart and Voice AND OF COURSE THE TWO OVERTURES!!!
Tickets can be bought at sistic,lot one. Its rather near so don't be lazy!=P

There will be NO majulah for the first week when school reopens.Majulah starts on week two term three on every tuesday.

To all SLs: pls inform ur fellow section mates that all band practices this week has been cancelled due to the increase in H1N1 cases.

HELLO CCK WINDS!

Recently, you all missed the Republic Polytechnic concert. Only TWO people from CCKWINDS went to support them, and one of the players was Kian Yong aka TERRY (the trombone guy who comes back frequently). The attendance was very dissapointing. Terry informed us way before hand, and even came down to school personally to sell these tickets to us. Going for concerts can be a way of showing appreciation to others etc. , but what's more important is that it gives us a chance to learn from them. I know some of you weren't free, didn't have enough money, or weren't allowed to go. But I'm sure that there were some of you who could go, but did not want to make the effort to go. This is not the first time, and I hope it would be the last.

Today, I'm going to update a concert and announce them to you all the next time I see the band.

THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING AND MAKING THIS BBQ HUGE SUCCESS!

Firstly, I would like to thank MR ONG for cooking the superrrrr delicious curry chicken (which finished within an hour) and taking time out to attend the bbq!

Secondly, I would like to thank the BBQ-ers (Benjamin, Eric, Gabriel, Daniel, Siokkan, Jazreel&Denise[Jaz's friend], Joseph, Samuel, Chuankui and many many more!) for BBQ-ing for us. Without you, there'll be no food no fire! ESP Eric,Gabriel and Benjamin who BBQ the entire time!

Thirdly, I would like to thank the "ushers" who brought the band members from Lot1 or the bus stop to my place (Insyirah, Sherry, Samuel, Irfan, Benjamin, Jazreel&Denise, and more!)!

Last but not least, I would like to thank EVERYONE for attending the BBQ. Though it was a failure at the start, all of you stayed and manage to have little/some/a lot of fun together. Thank you Irfan, Wenjie, Kelvin and boys for being so daring and helping out with the activities. And to the people who had fun speaking in the british accent, keep working on it. hahahaha inside joke.

As for the budget, each person who came has to pay $3-$7 to me. You can pay minimum $3, but maximum $7 :)
I hope that all of you had fun, and enjoyed the food! [All food except the curry chicken were ordered from www.bbqwholesale.com] If you missed this BBQ, it's okay! :D There'll be much more in the future and I'm sure you all will be able to make it for at least one.

*If I missed out any of you, I'm really sorry! hehehehe just let me know if I missed any of you out and I'll edit this. hahahahaha*

Make sure you all drink enough water and take good care of yourselves! I'm sure, after this BBQ sure got people will kena sore throat and stuff because you all didn't drink enough water, so PLEASE HYDRATE YOURSELVES! Take care band!

This first paragraph is for ADMINS.admins there will be a meeting on wk four wed and thurs one hour before AND after band.Pls tell me or samuel if you can come that early and leave that late.

Everyone pls take this week to rest and take good care of yourselves(Yea i know there's only four days left).PLEASE BRING YOUR THERMOMETERS ON NEXT BAND PRACTICE.I want to see less people on the ''forgot to bring'' list.If you have any valid reason for not having a working thermometer please inform the majors or teachers.please DRINK LOTS OF WATER TOO.

Yo ppl. This is a gentle reminder tat every1 is 2 bring their own thermometer tmr 4 the temperature takin exercise. I noe all of u will think tat it's a complete waste of time, but it is absolutely important 4 us to noe abt ur health since the H1N1 is going around. Those ppl goin 4 lessons pls do inform the SLs or majors so tat we will noe abt ur whereabouts. So pls, do cooperate with us so as 2 make our jobs easier. Nxt band practice will b tmr.
